Anal fissure is a rent or break of the anal mucosa of the anal canal. Most commonly present with pain with passage of the bright red blood in the stools due to defecation.
The causes of anal fissure include prolonged episodes of diarrhea, forceful strain during the process of defecation or due to constipation.
Anal fissure may fail to heal which lead to the chronic fissure which is prone to perianal infection
