Seldinger technique provides immediate access to the central venous and should be performed by experience medical staff and considered in cases where it is impossible for peripheral access. In Seldinger technique a needle is inserted into a jugular or subclavian veins known as central vein which is followed later by a guidewire threaded through it. The needle is removed, and the cannula is later threaded over the wires into the vein.
