Breath - Holding Spells
The characteristic of breath holding spells may present with range of color form pallor to cyanosis. Patient may loss the consciousness or resolve spontaneously. Breath holding spells may occur in children 6 months up to 6 years of age.
Breath holding spells occurs as a reflexive reaction which occurs in expiration.
The differential diagnosis of breath holding spells are seizures,obstructive sleep apnea, orthostatic hypotension, Rett syndrome and long QT intervals.
The complication of breath holding spells are body jerking,urinary incontinence and limp.
