Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy occurs due to injury and insult to the brain before birth, during the delivery process or in the perinatal period.
The common symptoms and signs of cerebral palsy are spasticity of the limb which include monoplegia, hemiplegia, paraplegia, quadriplegia, seizures, ataxia, microcephaly and involuntary movement as well as hyperreflexia.
Generally, cerebral palsy will affect and lead to disorder of the vision, speech impairment and hearing disorders. Cerebral palsy is a common chronic impairment of the strength, muscle tone, movement and coordination.
The complication and common cause of death from cerebral palsy is aspiration pneumonia.
The treatment of cerebral palsy are medication and injection for spasticity, special education service, physical therapy, occupational therapy,speech therapy and treatment for seizures.
