Bronchiolitis is best detected with chest x ray which may reveal hyperinflation, increase interstitial marking, peribronchial cuffing and subsegmental atelectasis.
The symptoms and signs of bronchiolitis are crackles, wheezing, vomiting, irritability and poor feeding, labored breathing, tachypnea and hypoxia.
The treatment may focus on hydration, supplement of oxygen, nasal suctioning and nebulized epinephrine.
The differential diagnosis of bronchiolitis may include gastroesophageal reflux, congestive heart failure, asthma and pneumonia.
