Ambrette Seed
Ambrette seed is also known as Abelmoschus moschatus which fall under the family of Malvaceae. Ambrette seed is also known as muskmallow, target leaved hibiscus, Egyptian Alcee, musk seed and hibiscus abelmoschus.
Ambrette seed grow in and cultivated in Africa, India, Egypt, Madagascat and China. The distillation process is genereally done in Europe and America.
Ambrette seed is a shrub about 1.5 meters high with a single yellow flower with a purple center. It consists of grayish brown kidney shape which produce a musky odor.
Traditionally, ambretteh seed is used to stimulates the digestive system and to relieve any dyspepsia, nervous and cramp. Ambrette seed can be made into emulsion to be used as treatment for itch and also as a treatment for headache. It is widely used as a domestic spice and can be added to the coffee.

The process of extracting essential oil begins with steam distillation of the seed. The ambrette seed oil is allowed to age for several months before it can be used.
