Alveolus or alveoli in plural is the blind ended sac of air of microscopic size. There are approximately around 30 alveoli open out form each of the alveolar duct that lead from the bronchiole.
Alveolus also means the part of the upper or lower jawbone which function is to support the roots of the teeth. It will be absorbed after the extraction of the teeth.
