Achondroplasia is inherited disorder which is manifested as failure of the bone of the legs and arms to grow to the normal sizes due to the defect in the bone and the cartilage. Achondroplasia may result in dwarfism which may present with short limbs but with normal intelligence and normal size of the head and body.
