In myeloproliferative disorders, there is uncontrolled clonal proliferation of one or
more of the cell lines in the bone marrow, and are classified as:
Chronic myeloid leukaemia (proliferation of WBC)
Polycythemia vera (proliferation of RBC)
Essential thrombocythemia (proliferation of thrombocytes)
Myelofibrosis (excessive scar tissue forms in the bone marrow which impairs its
ability to produce normal blood cells).
